Anaka Styba, MA, CRC, is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals and couples through relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, conflict, betrayal, major decisions, and life transitions.
Her work is relationship-focused, practical, and collaborative. Rather than simply trying to stop an argument, Anaka helps clients understand what is happening beneath recurring patterns and develop healthier ways of communicating, responding, and connecting.
Anaka believes meaningful change begins with greater understanding. Her role is not to decide who is right or wrong, assign blame, or assume every relationship should follow the same path.
She helps people slow difficult conversations down, become more curious about their own and their partner’s experiences, and create greater emotional safety, clarity, and mutual understanding.
Anaka brings extensive specialized training to her relationship work. She is a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and has completed advanced training in approaches including EMDR.
Her Imago training provides a structured framework for helping couples understand recurring relationship patterns, communicate difficult experiences more safely, and strengthen emotional connection. Anaka integrates these skills with her broader psychological training and adapts counselling to the needs of each individual or couple.
